Guwahati is the biggest city of the northeast Indian state of Assam and the entire northeastern region of India. It is indeed a sprawling city on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra River. The city is famous for the Kamakhya Temple, also known as Kamrup-Kamakhya. It is the primary deity of the 51 Shaktipeeths of Sati(the wife of Lord Shiva) spread across India, Bangladesh & Pakistan. It is situated atop the holy Nilachal Hill from where one can have a bird’s eye view of the city. To the east, the 18th-century Navagraha Temple is an astronomical center with planetary shrines. Umananda Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva and covered with engravings, stands on Peacock Island in the Brahmaputra River.

After breakfast, you will visit the holy Kamakhya Temple. In the evening, you will thoroughly enjoy a boat ride on the Brahmaputra River while you will be taken to the Umananda Temple within the Peacock Island in the river. After that, you will also visit the Basistha Ashram Temple situated by the side of a pretty stream at the foothills with semi jungle ambience. Rest of the evening will be at leisure. You can do your bit of shopping from Paltan Bazaar, the main shopping area of Guwahati.  Have dinner and stay overnight in your hotel at Guwahati.

After an early breakfast, check-out from your Guwahati hotel and proceed towards Shillong. 17KMS before Shillong, you will be greeted by the spectacular sight of the Umiam Lake, locally known as Barapani. Spend some time by the side of Barapani and proceed towards Shillong town.

Shillong, also referred to as “The Scotland of the East”, is the capital city of the northeast Indian state of Meghalaya. It is a beautiful hill station, stationed approx 1525MTR / 5000FT above sea level. The town is encircled by pine forests and it enjoys light drizzles to moderate showers keeping the climate cool throughout the year. Shillong is known for its manicured gardens, walking trails, golf courses, museums, waterfalls and peaks. The forested Shillong Peak to the east of the town offers fantastic views of the city on a clear day.  Interestingly, Shillong has a very western culture and it has a very young feel to it. Shillong is also famous as the music capital of India, as many prominent musicians have hailed from this place. Many music events keep happening throughout the year, making it a very lively place.

Upon reaching, visit some of the famous sightseeing spots of Shillong like Ward’s Lake, Botanical Garden, Lady Hydari Park, 18Hole Golf Course, Zoo, The State Museum, Elephant Falls &Shillong Peak. Check-in to your hotel in the evening and simply relax after a tiring day. Have dinner and stay overnight in your hotel at Shillong.

After breakfast, set out for a full day excursion trip to Cherrapunjee.

Situated approx 1484MTR / 4900FT above sea level, Cherrapujee is among the wettest places on earth. With its clean & pristine surroundings and a unique climate gifted to this area, Cherrapunjee is an ideal place to sit back & unwind. The several waterfalls in the area only compliment the climate and the pleasant air around. This rainy misty place is also famous for astounding views of the lavish spread of the Bangladesh plains from its cliffs.

Upon reaching, visit the Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave, Seven Sisters Falls, Ramakrishna Mission & DwanSyiem View Point and return back to Shillong by late afternoon. Spend your evening at leisure roaming around the Police Bazaar area which is the primary shopping zone of Shillong. Have dinner and stay overnight in your hotel at Shillong.

After an early breakfast, set out for another full day excursion trip to KrangSuri Waterfalls, Dawki & Mawlynnong. Visit the KrangSuri Waterfalls, a beautiful waterfall in the Jaintia Hills of eastern Meghalaya. Amongst the myriad of waterfalls found in the region, KrangSuri is one of the most beautiful and aesthetically pleasing. Next, you will be taken to the Dawki riverside where you will enjoy a boat ride on the crystal clear waters of the Dawki River. Also you will visit the Indo-Bangladesh border at Tamabil. Afterwards, you will be taken to Mawlynnong, rated to be the cleanest village of Asia. There you can enjoy a small trek to visit the Living Root Bridge &Machan 85FT high Sky Walk. Bomdila is a small town perched approx 2415MTR / 7900FT above sea level in the western part of the northeast Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Tawang is a beautiful hill town located at an approx high elevation of 3048MTR / 10000FT above sea level situated in the northwestern part of the northeast Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Famous for being the birthplace of the holy Dalai Lama, Tawang is the place to go for monasteries with the Tawang Monastery being one of the most popular one and extremely sacred to the Buddhists. Tawang with its natural beauty is also equally wrapped in spirituality. Once a part of southern Tibet, the area was annexed to India after the 1962 Sino-India war and is now the most popular and sought after destination of tourists visiting Arunachal Pradesh.

After breakfast, set out for a half day sightseeing tour of Tawang. First, you will be taken to Tawang Monastery, also known as the Golden NamgyalLhatse which is the largest monastery in India and second largest in the world after Potala Palace in Lhasa. Next you will be taken to the Tawang War Memorial. Dedicated to the martyrs of the Sino-India war of 1962, this 40FT high structure constructed in Stupa design is nestled among beautiful peaks overlooking the Tawang-Chu valley. This memorial, also known as NamgyalChorten has names of 2420 dead soldiers. Lastly, you would be taken to PTSO Lake. PTSO Lake or the PankangTengTso Lake is around 16KMS ahead of Tawang town through a rough road and is one of the most visited lakes in Arunachal Pradesh. Land records say the lake was created by a flash flood following the 1950 earthquake in the region. But tourists flock to see this lake more because of its reputation of being known by the name ‘Madhuri Lake’ since famous Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit shot a dance sequence of the 1997 Bollywood blockbuster ‘Koyla’. Dirang is a small and pretty hill town located on the banks of the KamengRiver (JiaBhoroli in Assam) at an approx low attitude of 1600MTR / 5200FT above sea level. With beautiful views of the Kameng valley, Dirang basically serves as a night halting place for tourists visiting Tawang.

After breakfast, check-out from your Dirang hotel / resort and proceed towards Bhalukpong / Nameri National Park. En-route, visit the Tipi Orchidarium at Upper Bhalukpong. Upon reaching, check-in to your hotel/ resort and relax.

Bhalukpong is a small town located in the foothills of the Arunachal Himalayas at the border of the northeast Indian states of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam. The JiaBhoroli River is the heart of Bhalukpong which flows down from the hills of Arunachal Pradesh to the plains of Assam. Bhalukpong is bordered by the Nameri National Park which can be visited to see birds as exotic as the place itself, along with tigers, elephants, barking dear and more. River rafting on the JiaBhoroli is one of the popular activities for tourists visiting Bhalukpong-Nameri area.

Spend your evening at complete leisure walking by the side of the JiaBhoroli River and just soak in to the nature.
